| PDG has significant experience working in collaboration with architects on projects ranging from ground-up construction to smaller scale additions. With architectural staff and experience, we are able to effectively communicate and work with other licensed architects, ensuring your project’s smooth progression from drawing board to completion. In a build-exclusively arrangement, the earlier in the design process PDG can become involved, the better. Generally, however, we are brought in when designs and drawings are near their final stages. At this point, the process will proceed as follows: | |
| Initial Consultation At the initial consultation, we will sit down with you to review your design drawings and plans. This is the time to determine what additional information may be needed to move from drawing board to construction. With our trained architects and licensed construction code enforcement officials, we are uniquely positioned to work with your architect to iron out all the details and specifications needed to successfully build your project. Budgeting and project planning Working with you, we will develop project construction strategies based on your architect’s designs and drawings. The goal at this phase is to flesh out the designs with all the details and specifications necessary for quality construction completed on a timely basis. We work as collaborative members of your project team and will assist in making the multiple decisions necessary to develop a thorough and accurate cost proposal for your project. During our twenty years in business as a general contracting enterprise, we have developed extensive resources for contracting, purchasing and installing all types of structural, mechanical and interior finish systems. We will use our valuable network to give you the highest quality project at the most competitive price. At the end of this phase, you will have a line item cost proposal and a project plan with construction specifications. At this point we will secure any necessary permits and approvals from your municipality. Construction Once construction is underway, project management and construction labor work together in unison. PDG does not use outside consultants or project managers to run your project. We manage the daily flow of your construction project with our own full-time employees. Kevin Wilkes, Angus Clayton and Richard Carter share the construction management responsibilities across the firm. Working as a team, they coordinate all the details that lead to successful project completion and total client satisfaction. We respect the integrity of your architect’s design and we strive to give their design the dignity of high quality execution, the beauty of its intended effects and the grace of thoughtful intentions. We work at a continuous pace, avoiding jobsite chaos on one extreme and project idleness at the other. We manage your project with full attention to all of the details that makes the difference between “building by chance” and building by logic. We promise and we deliver: over two hundred completed projects over twenty years. Our skill and experience is the best protection for your construction budget. Project Completion Our commitment to does not end with the completion of your construction. PDG stands behind the quality of our work with a one-year warranty on all work performed. Beyond that, we maintain close working relationships with many of our clients, working with them on multiple projects, allowing their living spaces to evolve as their needs grow and change over the years. |
